Team

The Kilima team combines over fifty years of shared expertise in healthcare innovation. From the early 2000s Marc began commercializing lateral flow tests for HIV and other infectious diseases. Greg, working as a laboratorian, built informatics systems and managed laboratory and quality management programs in research laboratories.

Meeting each other when they joined Alere they have worked together since in Africa’s largest diagnostic companies commercialization and deploying the key point-of-care technologies used across the continent.

The portfolio of products they have delivered includes PIMA CD4, m-PIMA for decentralized Early Infant Diagnosis (EID), TB LAM, HIV-Syph Duo, and 4th Generation HIV screening.

Their most significant project to date was successfully completing a COVID-19 relief program for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, where the LumiraDx advanced microfluidic platform was deployed in 49 African countries. This effort was followed by adapting these platforms for HbA1c and NT-Pro-BNP testing in decentralized diabetes programs, INR and D-Dimer testing in cardiovascular and HIV patients, and CRP screening for tuberculosis.

Recognized as thought leaders in diagnostic and health innovation, the team are frequently invited to present at international conferences and meetings and contribute to innovation in the evolving health landscape
